It all started when Lucia Viti found an ancient Harry & David box while cleaning out the attic . . .

The box was filled with Vietnam memorabilia—the remnants of her father’s tour of duty in 1967 as a Battalion Surgeon in An Hoa.

The contents of the box left her breathless and she stared at it for years until she was compelled to search for a part of her father's life she knew nothing about.

The fruits of her labor is Dr. Tom's War - A Daughter's Journey. A book that started out as a quest for a daughter to re-connect and give life to a father she lost too soon, and ended up giving a voice to a group of Vietnam Veterans, who have been silent for too long about their role in America's most controversial military conflict.
